This marks the beginning of a major investment that will modernise the community&#8217;s infrastructure and create new opportunities for vendors and small businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having first visited the market on September 26, 2025, Minister Manickchand recognised the urgent need for intervention and committed to transforming the facility into one that better serves both vendors and residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing those gathered, Minister Manickchand said the new market forms part of the Government&#8217;s broader vision of building stronger, more resilient communities across Guyana. He expressed hope that the new market will become a thriving business hub for generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The contract for the project was awarded through the public tender process in accordance with the Public Procurement Act. The project is being delivered based on designs prepared by Skylines Architecture Inc. at a cost of $388,147,745.
