{"id":30802,"date":"2026-07-10T21:32:47","date_gmt":"2026-07-11T01:32:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=30802"},"modified":"2026-07-10T21:32:47","modified_gmt":"2026-07-11T01:32:47","slug":"historic-ngsa-results-reflect-strategic-investments-minister-parag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/historic-ngsa-results-reflect-strategic-investments-minister-parag\/","title":{"rendered":"Historic NGSA results reflect strategic investments &#8211; Minister Parag"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by Kimberly Giddings <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister Sonia Parag says the NGSE results are the best ever, with more pupils\u00a0passing all four subjects this year.\u00a0She says the historic results reflect years of strategic investment in the country&#8217;s education\u00a0system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Caribbean Examinations Council, which sets and marks the examination, reported improvements\u00a0in each of the four subjects.\u00a0English recorded a pass rate of 73 per cent, up from 69.25 per cent last year.Social Studies increased from 64.77 per cent to 65.28 per cent.\u00a0Science from 63.7 per cent to 65.38 per cent, while Mathematics recorded one of the biggest improvements,\u00a0climbing from 55.51 per cent to 59.8 per cent.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Education Minister Sonia Parag described the results as unprecedented.\u00a0But this is the best result that has ever been recorded in our country&#8217;s history that\u00a0you&#8217;re experiencing here today.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;In fact, yesterday when we received the results from CXC, we asked to compare\u00a0our performance with that of other territories across the region with similar type of assessments.
