{"id":30780,"date":"2026-07-09T16:10:44","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T20:10:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=30780"},"modified":"2026-07-09T16:11:36","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T20:11:36","slug":"president-ali-rejects-allegations-about-farm-says-investments-are-fully-accounted-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/president-ali-rejects-allegations-about-farm-says-investments-are-fully-accounted-for\/","title":{"rendered":"President Ali rejects allegations about farm, says investments are fully accounted for"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-Says farm occupies less than half the acreage claimed by Mohamed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>President Dr. Irfaan Ali has dismissed allegations concerning his farm, maintaining that the property has long been publicly known and that all investments made there have been financed through legitimate means.<br><br>Speaking during an address, President Ali said suggestions that the farm had only recently come to public attention were inaccurate, noting that its existence has been known for years by investors, agricultural stakeholders and others familiar with the area.<br><br>The President said the farm was developed through personal investment and bank financing and denied that he received any special concessions or assistance from the State.<br><br><em><strong>&#8220;My farm carries a huge loan, and everything has been disclosed to the Integrity Commission. Everything on my farm can be accounted for through legitimate means. There is absolutely nothing to hide,&#8221; <\/strong><\/em>he said.<br><br>Responding to statements made by businessman Azruddin Mohamed, President Ali also disputed claims regarding the size and value of the property.<br><br><em><strong>&#8220;The size of the farm is not even half of what he said it is,&#8221; t<\/strong><\/em>he President stated.<br>He further said the lease for the property was granted under the same terms and conditions that apply to other leaseholders along the highway.<br><br>President Ali said he is proud to be a farmer and insisted that his administration remains focused on national development despite what he described as efforts to divert attention from its work.<br><br><strong><em>&#8220;I am proud. You can call me a farmer. It is a title I hold with honour,&#8221; <\/em><\/strong>he said.<br>The President added that he intends to continue giving the public greater access to the farm and explaining its operations.<br><br><strong><em>&#8220;I want people to learn.
