While this invitation for written submissions is ongoing, the commission will also begin oral hearings. That is to say, we will begin inviting persons who have made written submissions to make oral presentations as well. The commission will travel to every administrative region across the country to ensure that it is accessible,” he said.

Submissions can cover any area of the Constitution, including fundamental rights and freedoms, electoral reform, judicial independence, local government, the National Assembly and the protection of public funds.

The Attorney General says every submission must include the relevant information.

“The commission has taken a decision that it will not treat with anonymous submissions. This is serious business. If you want to make a contribution to such a nationally important process, then you must be able to say who you are and give us some form of ID so that we can authenticate and verify who you are,” he explained.

Written submissions can be delivered to the Constitution Reform Commission Secretariat at 211 Camp and Lamaha Street, Georgetown, or emailed to gycrc24@gmail.com.
