{"id":30579,"date":"2026-06-24T14:06:44","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T18:06:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=30579"},"modified":"2026-06-24T14:06:44","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T18:06:44","slug":"gcci-condemns-continued-disrespect-of-guyanas-sovereignty-by-suriname","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/gcci-condemns-continued-disrespect-of-guyanas-sovereignty-by-suriname\/","title":{"rendered":"GCCI condemns continued disrespect of Guyana\u2019s Sovereignty by Suriname"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) strongly condemns the continued disrespect of Guyana\u2019s sovereignty by event organisers in Suriname. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most recent incident at the Suriname Energy, Oil and Gas Summit (SEOGS) is in blatant contempt of Guyana\u2019s sovereign territory\u2014particularly in the presence of Guyanese officials and companies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This occurrence mirrors the actions at the International Business Conference in Suriname last year, and depicts a trend of incivility by event organisers in our neighbouring state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These incidents cannot be allowed to continue unchecked, and the Chamber urges both the Government of Guyana and businesses operating in Guyana to reject these actions by impenitent individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the Chamber encourages Guyanese and the business community to not support events that depict such disrespect of our country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(GCCI PRESS RELEASE)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) strongly condemns the continued disrespect of Guyana\u2019s sovereignty by event organisers in Suriname.
