Residents of Bartica on Friday witnessed another commitment delivered as President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali officially handed over three brand-new pieces of equipment to support an infrastructure maintenance and community enhancement programme across Region Seven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative, announced two weeks ago during a previous presidential outreach in the township, will immediately begin improving roads, drainage, beautification and public spaces, under the stewardship of a newly established local committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing residents at the Bartica Community Ground, President Ali said the delivery reflects the government\u2019s commitment to listening and responding swiftly to concerns raised directly by citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cWe came on that outreach, we listened to you, we listened to the concerns of the residents, and we acted immediately,\u201d <\/em><\/strong>the president stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The equipment will support a broad programme of works, including road shoulder improvements, drainage enhancement, vegetation clearing, maintenance of dams, beautification projects and upgrades to solid waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Ali explained that one of the first tasks will be the creation of hard shoulders along roads to improve drainage, provide cleaner walking areas and create safer access for motorists and pedestrians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChildren going to school\u2026the same. Persons walking, you don\u2019t have to walk in muddy or waterlogged areas anymore,\u201d <\/em><\/strong>he noted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

A committee of local leaders and stakeholders has been established to oversee the works and ensure coordination throughout Bartica and the surrounding communities. <\/p>\n\n\n

The president said the body will be supported by regional authorities and community representatives to ensure projects are executed efficiently and remain community-driven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The president also reaffirmed support for mining communities affected by recent heavy rainfall, noting that the government is working with the Ministry of Natural Resources and miners to develop a strategic plan to rehabilitate damaged roads and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, updates were provided on additional commitments already fulfilled in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among them were improvements to electrical systems at Bartica Hospital to stabilise power supply, drainage interventions across several communities, support for farmers through land clearing, restoration of water systems in Karrau, assessments for expanded electricity access and road upgrades in communities including Batavia.<\/p>\n\n\n

Residents were also updated on progress toward the establishment of a Government Service Centre in Bartica, which will provide access to essential services, including identification cards, passports, GRA, NIS, licences and digital services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Ali said the next five years will focus heavily on improving service delivery and strengthening community-based development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis next five years is dedicated towards community service efficiency and improving the delivery of service, and that is what you\u2019re seeing out here now,\u201d <\/em><\/strong>he said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The president also announced that a local board will soon be established to oversee operations at the upcoming Government Service Centre, ensuring daily oversight remains in the hands of Bartica residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
