Guyana’s rapid growth is creating opportunities beyond oil\u00a0with investments in infrastructure, tourism, manufacturing and education,\u00a0driving jobs and business expansion.\u00a0Speaking with the Guyana Suriname Trade Mission,\u00a0Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh said\u00a0these developments are strengthening regional partnerships\u00a0and opening new avenues for growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minister says Guyana is experiencing\u00a0an unprecedented period of economic growth and transformation,\u00a0creating opportunities across virtually every sector of the economy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing representatives of the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers Association\u00a0and the Suriname Guyana Chamber of Commerce\u00a0at the opening of the Guyana Suriname Trade Mission,\u00a0Minister Singh says the country is aggressively investing in infrastructure,\u00a0energy, healthcare, education and industrial development to support long-term growth.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don’t think it’s a secret.In fact, your presence here today confirms that it isn’t a secret\u00a0that we are going through an extraordinary period of economic growth\u00a0and an extraordinary period of economic transformation in Guyana,”<\/strong> he said. <\/p>\n\n\n

Finance Minister, Dr. Ashni Singh <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

The Finance Minister noted that government investments\u00a0are helping to accelerate development while encouraging private sector expansion.\u00a0He pointed to new roads, hospitals, schools, industrial projects\u00a0and international hotel development as evidence of the country’s changing economic landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singh said Guyana’s growth is also creating opportunities for local and foreign investors\u00a0in sectors ranging from agriculture and tourism to manufacturing, training and services.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With the rate at which foreign direct investment is arriving in Guyana,\u00a0with the rate at which domestic credit to the private sector is growing,\u00a0with the rate at which jobs are being created…in President Ali’s first term, we created 104,000 jobs in Guyana,” <\/strong>he noted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Singh encouraged visiting companies to explore strategic partnership with Guyanese\u00a0businesses, noting that collaboration has already created new opportunities\u00a0in training, manufacturing and other industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 50 delegates representing 38 Trinidad and Tobago companies\u00a0are participating in the trade mission which aims to strengthen regional business ties\u00a0and identify new investment opportunities in Guyana.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
