{"id":30111,"date":"2026-05-26T19:18:58","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T23:18:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=30111"},"modified":"2026-05-26T19:18:58","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T23:18:58","slug":"security-beefed-up-on-guyanas-borders-president-ali","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/security-beefed-up-on-guyanas-borders-president-ali\/","title":{"rendered":"Security beefed up on Guyana&#8217;s borders &#8211; President Ali"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-following last month&#8217;s attack on soldiers <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by Celestine Chacon <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following last month&#8217;s armed attacks on Guyana&#8217;s soldiers along the Cuyuni River, additional\u00a0security assets have been deployed to safeguard Guyana&#8217;s borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During a recent press conference, President Dr. Irfaan Ali explained that the decision\u00a0to beef up security on Guyana&#8217;s borders is guided by intelligence and diplomatic engagement.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces emphasised that Guyana has informed its allies\u00a0about the recent attack and continues to provide briefings as investigations continue.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>&#8220;We have two new assets and other assets that we are deploying to further enhance the security\u00a0there.
