{"id":29921,"date":"2026-05-16T21:19:50","date_gmt":"2026-05-17T01:19:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=29921"},"modified":"2026-05-16T21:19:50","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T01:19:50","slug":"region-ten-education-sector-seeing-major-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/region-ten-education-sector-seeing-major-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"Region Ten education sector seeing major growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>-by Tracey Liverpool<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The education sector in Region 10 has seen significant growth and transformation over the past five years.\u00a0According to Regional Education Officer LaShanna Anderson,\u00a0major investments in infrastructure and learning facilities\u00a0are helping to improve access to quality education across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She revealed that the number of schools in the region has increased over the past five years.\u00a0New nursery schools were constructed for the first time in communities\u00a0including Bamia, Hururu and Rockstone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The total number of schools across the region has increased from 61 to 64,\u00a0including the construction of six new school buildings,\u00a0reflecting the Government of Guyana&#8217;s continued investment in quality education and national development,&#8221; she said. Among the major projects currently underway is the construction of a modern primary school at Wisroc Phase 1B.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The facility is expected to address overcrowding presently affecting One Mile Primary School\u00a0while providing a safer and more conducive learning environment for both students and teachers.
