In Region 4, it will take a little bit longer,&#8221;<\/strong> he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0Meanwhile, the VP outlined several initiatives being implemented to improve the\u00a0living standards of Guyanese, particularly at the community level.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;These include putting in street lights and security cameras, building concrete drains,\u00a0and improving waste collection and disposal, with over 50 NDCs already receiving garbage compactors. As you have seen, we already bought compactors for almost all the NDCs and the townships,\u00a0and now we are preparing places for people to take the garbage,\u00a0because some of the NDCs have to travel a long distance,&#8221;<\/strong> he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Jagdeo says nearly 90,000 street lights and 2,000 security cameras will be installed\u00a0across the villages and city wards to strengthen public safety.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>-by Nakasia Logan At Monday&#8217;s public day event at the Arthur Chung Conference Center,\u00a0housing was high on the agenda for many citizens.
