Minister of Finance Dr. Ashni Singh says the information\u00a0is the result of decades of disciplined policy and strategic leadership.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking on the Starting Point Program, the Finance Minister explained\u00a0that Guyana&#8217;s relationship with international institutions\u00a0like the International Monetary Fund and World Bank has significantly evolved.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;So you are absolutely correct that Guyana now occupies a place\u00a0of considerably more influence and considerably more respect globally,\u00a0hemispherically and regionally on almost all subject matters,&#8221;<\/strong> he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Finance Minister emphasised that Guyana&#8217;s current economic strength\u00a0and international standing are not accidental,\u00a0but the result of decades of reaffirmed investment and sound policy decisions.\u00a0He noted that the country is now among the fastest growing economies in the world,\u00a0with its performance drawing global attention\u00a0and reshaping how small states are perceived.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;We are today in a place where Guyana is and has been\u00a0the fastest growing economy in the world,\u00a0has been growing, has been outperforming,\u00a0not only outperforming all comparators,\u00a0but has been dominating global economic growth performance\u00a0and global economic growth projection,&#8221; <\/strong>he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Singh says Guyana&#8217;s transformation continues\u00a0to open new opportunities for investment and global partnerships.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>-by Kimberly Giddings Guyana&#8217;s global standing continues to grow\u00a0with increased influence in regional and international decision-making.
