While there are no major reports of flooding so farin any of the regions<strong>, <\/strong>all resources have been mobilized in preparation for any changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the past two days, the Hydrometeorological Service has been warning Guyanese to brace for unstable weather conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But with the government quickly mobilizing its resources, there have been no reports of flooding in any of the regions. Agriculture Minister, Zulfikar Mustapha, who oversees the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA), has assured that systems are in place to respond if conditions worsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>All our systems are in place the pumps are working, sluices are operational and I have a team monitoring out in the field<\/strong>,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister added that three engineers have been assigned in Georgetown to monitor the situation around the clock. City Engineer Colvern Venture meanwhile noted that \u00a0the capital city remains under close watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Whatever resources we have, that\u2019s what we must work with. I have men going around to see where clogs and blockages are, and we will address that.
