{"id":29507,"date":"2026-04-20T19:53:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T23:53:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=29507"},"modified":"2026-04-20T19:53:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T23:53:16","slug":"now-is-the-time-to-start-your-own-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/now-is-the-time-to-start-your-own-business\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Now is the time to start your own business&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-gov&#8217;t urges Guyanese to seize opportunities <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Government is pushing for a new wave of entrepreneurship in Guyana\u00a0as expanding economic opportunities and targeted support systems create what officials say\u00a0is the ideal environment for citizens to start and grow their own businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a historic level of state support for entrepreneurship and an economy that is\u00a0growing like never before, citizens are being urged to become entrepreneurs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally,\u00a0says that with everything in their favour, now is the best time for Guyanese to become entrepreneurs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During an appearance on the Starting Point podcast,\u00a0Ali pointed out that there was growth across multiple economic sectors,\u00a0which has created unprecedented opportunities for individuals to invest and build their own\u00a0businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ally also noted that this push is being backed by a series of initiatives\u00a0under the Irfaan Ali-led PPP\/C administration aimed at removing traditional barriers to entry,\u00a0particularly for young people with business ideas.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;Now, with the rate that our economy is growing, with all of the opportunities that are being\u00a0provided in almost every sector, now is a good time for every Guyanese, I believe,\u00a0to invest in a business, to invest in something that they like,&#8221;<\/strong> he encouraged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government plans to support entrepreneurs through the upcoming Guyana Development Bank,\u00a0which will also provide training to help them successfully manage and grow their businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;We will do training and we will do workshop on financial literacy. So it&#8217;s not a case where you just walk in, you have an idea, you collect a check and\u00a0you walk out. Not free money. Not free money. We will help you, we will help you to be\u00a0an all-around business person.
