Guyana\u2019s cultural landscape is set to come alive as the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy, welcome a visiting Chinese acrobatic troupe as part of ongoing cultural exchange between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative forms part of celebrations marking Guyana\u2019s 60th Independence Anniversary, with officials describing the performances as a symbol of strong diplomatic ties and people-to-people connection between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shows, which are open to all, will be held across multiple regions over the next several days, giving citizens a chance to experience world-class Chinese acrobatics at no cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative is part of ongoing cultural exchange between Guyana and China, and according to the ministry’s Director of National Events, Andrew Tyndall, aimed at bringing communities together through the arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Last year, we had a dance troupe visiting, and this year we’re fortunate as part of China’s gift to Guyana for our 60th independence anniversary, they have brought an acrobatic troop<\/strong>,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first public performance is set for Sunday, April 19 at the Leonora Track and Field Stadium, with additional shows continuing across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second show will be on April 20 at the National Cultural Centre, at 1 PM for schools and 7 PM for the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, April 21, the troupe will perform at Albion, Berbice, followed by a show at Bayroc Stadium in Linden on Wednesday, April 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour then moves to Anna Regina car park in Essequibo on Thursday, April 23 then back to the National Cultural centre on the 24th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public is being encouraged to come out early, as large crowds are expected for these free performances, which will feature a range of award-winning acts and traditional Chinese displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
