Residents of Anna Regina are stepping into a healthier future with the opening of a new outdoor gym, offering a fresh space dedicated to fitness, recreation, and community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility, commissioned on Thursday, features a modern, open layout and is meant to serve as a lively hub for both exercise and social interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development was made possible through a collaborative effort between CNOOC Petroleum Guyana Limited, the Regional Democratic Council, and the Anna Regina Town Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman of Region Two, Devin Mohan described the project as a landmark investment, noting that it is the first of its kind in the region. He stressed the importance of providing safe, accessible spaces for residents to improve their health, and assured that the facility will be properly maintained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohan also encouraged Essequibians to make full use of the gym, adding that it marks another turning point in the region’s ongoing development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delivering remarks on behalf of CNOOC President Mr. Lian Jihong, Vice President Keith Henderson said the initiative represents the deepening ties between Guyana and China. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that the project forms part of CNOOC\u2019s collaboration with First Lady Arya Ali\u2019s beautification programme, which seeks to upgrade public spaces nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Henderson also pointed out that similar outdoor gyms have been installed in other communities, including the National Park in Georgetown, Bartica, Corriverton, and Grove-Diamond, and expressed pride in bringing the initiative to Anna Regina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputy Mayor Lorna Budhram underscored the value of such spaces in encouraging healthier habits and fostering stronger community connections, noting that the gym will benefit residents across all age groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
