Discipline concerns have sidelined Guyana Harpy Eagles all-rounder Kevin Sinclair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guyana Cricket Board says ongoing behavioral issues, including a recent on-field incident, have led to his omission from the squad for the upcoming Windward Islands series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite this, the door remains open for Sinclair to return once standards are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a press conference held at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chairman of the Senior Selection Panel, explained that Sinclair\u2019s behavior over the past two years influenced the decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Since<\/strong> 2024 we\u2019ve had issues with Kevin in terms of disciplinary issues and the most recent action that he displayed at Everest was the reason for him not being selected. He walked off the field and he was very disobedient towards<\/strong> the captain<\/strong>,” he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chairman noted that the Board had previously tried to address Sinclair\u2019s conduct internally, but concerns persisted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Anthony D\u2019Andrade, Cricket Operations Manager, dismissed claims that Sinclair was being unfairly treated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Mr. Kevin people might not remember but he was also selected for the breakout league in January so this is not a case where Kevin is being victimised. After following that meeting the GCB executive as well as the selection panel were comfortable with the stage that Kevin was at. He admitted to all his misdemeanors and we were comfortable enough to select him for that<\/strong> breakout league<\/strong>,” D\u2019Andrade noted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite his omission from the squad, the Board emphasized that Sinclair\u2019s opportunities are not closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think it\u2019s wrong to say it\u2019s the end of Kevin Sinclair. Look the truth of the matter is It has become a situation where it\u2019s disruptive to the team and if you\u2019re going disrupt a team it\u2019s difficult to have you around a group of people who have<\/strong> a common goal,” <\/strong>Sarwan added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GCB reiterated that discipline remains a key factor in player selection moving forward, signaling that Sinclair may return to the squad once necessary standards are met.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
