–with launch of new health initiative<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a major step to boost healthcare quality nationwide, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Mount Sinai, has launched the National Initiative to Improve Hospital Quality and Patient Safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing health professionals at the opening today, Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony, noted that despite recent improvements in the healthcare system, there is still a gap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s easy to improve infrastructure we can hire people and put them in place but if we don’t work as a cohesive team and see how we are making that impact on patients, then we would not have the improvement that we’re looking for<\/strong>,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n

Dr. Rachel Vreeman, who led the Mount Sinai team, emphasized their strong commitment to supporting Guyana\u2019s healthcare system through the specialized training of health care workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s really our honor on behalf of\u00a0 Mount Sinai in New York to support this work, to be partners to you in this, to do all that we can to walk beside you as you move forward this ambition and critical goal of having top quality hospital services in Guyana,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n
