This update was given by Region Five Chairman, Recardo Phillips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Construction of the prefabricated structure began in January 2026 with a 6-month timeline for completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the chairman, the roof will be completed by this weekend and the tarmac and sanitary facilities, in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When completed the facility will house approximately 40 vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&#8220;Only<\/strong> <strong>yesterday [I met] with the vendors and some residents of Rosignol and they are happy about the project. They see the project as a meaningful investment that government has made to boost their livelihoods,&#8221; <\/strong>he told NCN. <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_6693-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28902\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_6693-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_6693-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/IMG_6693.jpeg 960w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Construction works on the prefabricated structure advanced in February<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The chairman says vendors and shoppers can look forward to improved facilities and hassle-free shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<strong>You have a well paved concrete tarmac to vend on which will be allocated into various sections for dry goods, fish and meat and vegetables.
