{"id":28857,"date":"2026-03-17T18:21:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T22:21:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=28857"},"modified":"2026-03-17T18:21:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T22:21:22","slug":"public-servants-in-berbice-welcome-the-announcement-of-100000-cash-grant-payment-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/public-servants-in-berbice-welcome-the-announcement-of-100000-cash-grant-payment-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Servants in Berbice welcome the announcement of $100,000 cash grant payment this week"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">-by Kyler Rollins<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Public servants in Berbice welcome the announcement that they will be among the first to receive the $100,000 cash grant in their bank accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finanace Minister Dr. Ashni Singh has said that the payment is expected to be made this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cash grant is a promise made by President Dr. Irfaan Ali, with some 62 billion dollars allocated to finanace its rollout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finanace Minister Dr. Ashni Singh, made the announcement last Thursday, noting that public servants will be the first to receive the grant, followed by other eligible Guyanese, living in Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement was welcomed by Public servants in Berbice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accountant, Melissa Sharper told NCN News that the grant will be a great help in easing travel expenses. She said, &#8220;This cash grant will benefit me by easing some of my expenses to and from RDC 6, it will assist me in paying some of my bills,&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accounts Clerk Kristen Mohabir also welcomes the news that she will be among the first tranche of persons to receive her grant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> &#8220;I am happy and excited because we are the first persons that will be receiving it,&#8221; she expressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andrew Dhanraj, who is a teacher, said, &#8220;I would like to express my gratitude to the government of Guyana and more so by extension the PPP\/C administration that is led by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali the President.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anjinie Howard, who works as an Admin Clerk, said that the intervention comes at an opportune time for her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Getting a free hundred thousand from the government it will come in good use because right now I need it,&#8221; Howard relayed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, an online digital platform will be launched through which Guyanese age 18 and older will be able to self-register for the grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>-by Kyler Rollins Public servants in Berbice welcome the announcement that they will be among the first to receive the $100,000 cash grant in their bank accounts.
