After spending 35 years of paying rent, this Christmas brought an extraordinary turning point for single mother, Rosanna Gobin. In a moment filled with emotion and gratitude, she received the keys to her brand-new home under the Adequate Housing and Urban Accessibility Programme, marking the end of a long journey and the start of a new chapter grounded in stability and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Central Housing & Planning Authority, Ms. Gobin was among 18 families from the East Bank and West Bank of Demerara who received homes through the programme, which is being implemented through a partnership between the Government of Guyana and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), earlier today.
To date, 243 of the 283 homes under the initiative have been completed, directly improving the lives of vulnerable families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
