{"id":27143,"date":"2025-03-31T22:13:04","date_gmt":"2025-03-31T22:13:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=27143"},"modified":"2025-03-31T22:13:06","modified_gmt":"2025-03-31T22:13:06","slug":"mashramani-2025-float-parade-showcases-culture-and-creativity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/mashramani-2025-float-parade-showcases-culture-and-creativity\/","title":{"rendered":"Mashramani 2025 Float Parade Showcases Culture and Creativity"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Nakasia Logan<\/em><br><em>February 24, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The streets of Georgetown came alive as thousands of Guyanese gathered to celebrate the nation\u2019s 55th Republic Day with the Mashramani 2025 Float Parade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event featured an array of elaborate costumes, decorated floats, and performances that highlighted themes of unity, culture, and national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The parade attracted spectators of all ages, including a 107-year-old woman who attended with her granddaughter to witness the vibrant display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several designers showcased their creativity through elaborate costumes and floats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among them, the Ministry of Human Services and Social Protection\u2019s presentation focused on inclusivity and public service, while other bands highlighted aspects of Guyana\u2019s rich cultural heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Amerindian Affairs was among those that featured traditional elements in its float, emphasizing indigenous culture and artistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the creative aspects, the parade also served as a platform for social awareness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Home Affairs used the occasion to promote its recently launched <em>\u201cDo the Right Thing\u201d<\/em> campaign, aimed at encouraging responsible behavior among citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held under the theme <em>\u201cExpressing Our Culture and Creativity as One Guyana,\u201d<\/em> this year\u2019s Mashramani Float Parade underscored the nation\u2019s artistic talents and commitment to cultural expression.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Nakasia LoganFebruary 24, 2025 The streets of Georgetown came alive as thousands of Guyanese gathered to celebrate the nation\u2019s 55th Republic Day with the Mashramani 2025 Float Parade.
