{"id":26984,"date":"2025-03-18T15:03:52","date_gmt":"2025-03-18T15:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=26984"},"modified":"2025-03-18T15:03:53","modified_gmt":"2025-03-18T15:03:53","slug":"linden-kicks-off-mashramani-celebrations-with-soca-monarch-finals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/linden-kicks-off-mashramani-celebrations-with-soca-monarch-finals\/","title":{"rendered":"Linden Kicks Off Mashramani Celebrations with Soca Monarch Finals"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>February 10, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local Mashramani celebrations in Linden officially began on Saturday night with the highly anticipated finals of the Soca Monarch 2025 competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diana Chapman, a talented Lindener, was crowned Soca Queen 2025, marking a highlight of the festivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The celebrations are set to culminate on March 2, when Lindeners will take to the streets for the annual Mash parade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The parade route will be similar to last year\u2019s, starting at the Bayroc community ground, proceeding along the Winifred Gaskin Highway, crossing the Wismar\/McKenzie bridge, passing through Five Corners, around Republic Avenue, and finishing at Retrieve ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mark Goring, the Vice Chairman of the Mash 2025 Committee, expressed hopes that some of the floats featured in the Mash Day National Road March would be showcased in Linden&#8217;s local parade as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the road march, Linden will host the flag-raising ceremony for Guyana\u2019s 55th Republic anniversary on February 22 at the Linden\/Georgetown bus park, starting at 8:00 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The region will also participate in the National Mashramani road march on February 23, with registration for participants still ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further celebrations include the children\u2019s road march scheduled for March 7, followed by Kwakwani&#8217;s grand road parade on March 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The official theme for Mashramani 2025 is &#8220;Expressing our Culture and Creativity as One Guyana.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>February 10, 2025 Local Mashramani celebrations in Linden officially began on Saturday night with the highly anticipated finals of the Soca Monarch 2025 competition.
