Expands Under Local Content Legislation, Secures ExxonMobil Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Saskia Warrick | February 4, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guysons Incorporated, a majority Guyanese-owned manufacturing company, has expanded its operations under the Local Content Legislation, securing a manufacturing contract with ExxonMobil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement marks a significant development in the implementation of policies aimed at increasing local business participation in the oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company has reported an increased demand for skilled labour as a result of the new contract. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To support this demand, Guysons Inc. has introduced a training program for welders, offering internationally recognized City and Guilds certification. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, five employees are enrolled in the program, which is designed to enhance their skills and earning potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Local Content Legislation, enacted to prioritize Guyanese businesses and workers, continues to create opportunities within the sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh announced that over 1,000 companies are now listed on the Local Content Register, reflecting the growing involvement of local enterprises in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guysons Inc. remains one of the companies benefiting from this initiative, further positioning itself as a key player in Guyana\u2019s expanding oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Saskia Warrick | February 4, 2025 Guysons Incorporated, a majority Guyanese-owned manufacturing company, has expanded its operations under the Local Content Legislation, securing a manufacturing contract with ExxonMobil.
