{"id":26561,"date":"2025-02-09T03:59:01","date_gmt":"2025-02-09T03:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=26561"},"modified":"2025-02-09T03:59:02","modified_gmt":"2025-02-09T03:59:02","slug":"linden-allocated-235m-for-new-regional-administrative-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/linden-allocated-235m-for-new-regional-administrative-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Linden Allocated $235M for New Regional Administrative Building"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>January 30, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Region Ten has received a significant allocation of 235 million dollars in the 2025 budget for the construction of a new regional administrative building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project, which was originally launched in 2017, was delayed after the contract with the initial contractor was terminated in 2020 due to unmet construction deadlines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contractor had failed to complete the building within the agreed two-year timeframe, with work only reaching the foundation stage after three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regional Executive Officer (REO) Dwight John expressed his satisfaction with the allocation in this year&#8217;s budget, which will allow the project to be completed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He confirmed that the new building will accommodate the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) as well as several other departments, including Public Works, Administration, Health, and Education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current administrative building, which was designed for 80 people, is now overcrowded and inadequate for the growing needs of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>John also highlighted that preparations for the construction are underway, with the proposed site being cleared for the new structure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The REO looks forward to the completion of the building, which will provide better space and facilities for the region\u2019s administrative functions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 30, 2025 Region Ten has received a significant allocation of 235 million dollars in the 2025 budget for the construction of a new regional administrative building.
