{"id":26427,"date":"2025-02-09T01:56:17","date_gmt":"2025-02-09T01:56:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=26427"},"modified":"2025-02-09T01:56:18","modified_gmt":"2025-02-09T01:56:18","slug":"government-plans-to-roll-out-e-ids-and-digital-solutions-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/government-plans-to-roll-out-e-ids-and-digital-solutions-in-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Government Plans to Roll Out E-IDs and Digital Solutions in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Delicia Janneire | January 20, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Guyanese government is set to introduce a series of digital transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing public service delivery in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the key initiatives is the rollout of Electronic-ID (E-ID) cards, which will consolidate various government-issued identifiers into a single card for citizens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh announced that the E-IDs are expected to be issued later this year, simplifying identification processes across multiple government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, a new Electronic Passport Control System will be implemented at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport to improve passenger processing times and enhance airport efficiency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government is also introducing an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to streamline healthcare services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its commitment to modernizing education, the government will launch the One Guyana Digital school, providing a fully digital platform for grades 10 and 11 students to access learning materials from home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, an Education Management Information System (EMIS) will be introduced in over 1,000 schools by the end of 2025 to enhance data collection and improve educational management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These digital transformation measures reflect the government\u2019s ongoing efforts to modernize public services and provide more efficient, accessible solutions for the Guyanese population.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia Janneire | January 20, 2025 The Guyanese government is set to introduce a series of digital transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing public service delivery in 2025.
