{"id":26304,"date":"2025-02-08T23:16:04","date_gmt":"2025-02-08T23:16:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=26304"},"modified":"2025-02-08T23:16:05","modified_gmt":"2025-02-08T23:16:05","slug":"phase-two-of-homestretch-avenue-roadworks-set-to-begin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/phase-two-of-homestretch-avenue-roadworks-set-to-begin\/","title":{"rendered":"Phase Two of Homestretch Avenue Roadworks Set to Begin"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Delicia Janneire | January 13, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second phase of roadworks along Homestretch Avenue is set to begin soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This phase will focus on the section from the CANU headquarters to the National Cultural Centre, with plans to widen the remaining part of the road into four lanes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KZEE Investments has been contracted to carry out the work, which is valued at $156.5 million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is designed to improve road safety by addressing issues related to speeding and accidents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New safety measures will include visible road markings and signs, as well as a clear separation of the two directions of traffic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is to maintain safer distances between vehicles traveling in opposite directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has already seen the commencement of utility pole transfers and excavation work along the northern side of the carriageway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, assured stakeholders that the roadworks will be carried out with minimal disruption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Access to surrounding facilities will remain open throughout the project, though there may be brief periods of restricted access, which will be communicated to the public in advance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stakeholders, including those at the National Cultural Centre, were advised to use alternative entrances if necessary during the construction period<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia Janneire | January 13, 2025 The second phase of roadworks along Homestretch Avenue is set to begin soon.
