{"id":26177,"date":"2025-02-08T21:07:46","date_gmt":"2025-02-08T21:07:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=26177"},"modified":"2025-02-08T21:07:47","modified_gmt":"2025-02-08T21:07:47","slug":"two-new-housing-policies-to-enhance-homeownership-and-prevent-squatting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/two-new-housing-policies-to-enhance-homeownership-and-prevent-squatting\/","title":{"rendered":"Two New Housing Policies to Enhance Homeownership and Prevent Squatting"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Nakasia Logan | January 6, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Housing and Water is preparing to present two new housing policies aimed at improving the living standards of citizens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Collin Croal shared that these policies are part of a larger national initiative to enhance homeownership opportunities and address housing quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the policies focuses on increasing access to safe, affordable, and adequate housing in communities with the necessary infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This policy will prioritize providing citizens with quality homes in well-serviced areas, with input from ongoing stakeholder consultations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A consultant is currently tasked with finalizing the housing policy, with plans to present the document to the Ministry soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The policy will build on existing programs and processes already implemented by the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA), incorporating feedback from citizens and stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second policy is geared toward community development, specifically aimed at preventing squatting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This policy will be piloted in Region Three and is expected to tackle the issue of informal settlements while encouraging lawful land ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Croal expressed hopes that both draft policies will be presented to the cabinet in the near future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Nakasia Logan | January 6, 2025 The Ministry of Housing and Water is preparing to present two new housing policies aimed at improving the living standards of citizens.
