{"id":26089,"date":"2025-02-01T22:18:35","date_gmt":"2025-02-01T22:18:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=26089"},"modified":"2025-02-01T22:18:36","modified_gmt":"2025-02-01T22:18:36","slug":"police-arrest-one-suspect-in-linden-shooting-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/police-arrest-one-suspect-in-linden-shooting-incident\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Arrest One Suspect in Linden Shooting Incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>December 31, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police in Linden have arrested one of the two suspects involved in a shooting incident early Sunday morning at Dakama Circle, Five Corner Junction, Mackenzie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The arrest comes as the police investigation continues into the altercation that left five individuals injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a police report released on Sunday, at least three suspects discharged firearms during the altercation, leading to the injuries of several individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the wounded are 27-year-old Rondel Rodney, who was shot in the right leg, and 21-year-old Tyrone Newton, who sustained a gunshot wound to his foot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, a 17-year-old male from Poker Street was injured with a gunshot wound to the hand, while 25-year-old Brian Johnson suffered a stab wound to the eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thirty-one-year-old Gladstone Bristol, who received a chop wound to the head, is suspected of being one of the shooters and is currently under police guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A second suspect, known only as &#8220;Joby,&#8221; remains at large. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police have recovered seven spent shell casings, two live rounds, and one warhead from the scene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite conducting gunshot residue tests on the injured individuals, all of them have refused to cooperate with the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident is believed to have resulted from a heated altercation between two groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 31, 2024 Police in Linden have arrested one of the two suspects involved in a shooting incident early Sunday morning at Dakama Circle, Five Corner Junction, Mackenzie.
