{"id":25936,"date":"2025-02-01T19:11:29","date_gmt":"2025-02-01T19:11:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=25936"},"modified":"2025-02-01T19:11:30","modified_gmt":"2025-02-01T19:11:30","slug":"linden-technical-institute-dormitory-to-open-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/linden-technical-institute-dormitory-to-open-in-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Linden Technical Institute Dormitory to Open in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Tracey Liverpool<\/em><br><em>December 20, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction of the Linden Technical Institute (LTI) dormitory has officially been completed, marking a significant step towards enhancing the institution\u2019s capacity and services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Principal Hector Anthony, the facility is currently being furnished and is expected to be fully operational by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dormitory, which has the capacity to accommodate over 150 students, will primarily house individuals from outside the Linden area who are seeking tertiary education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This development is anticipated to help increase LTI\u2019s current student enrollment of 350, as more students from across the country will now have access to on-campus housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new dormitory features a study hall, four dormitory blocks, and an administrative area, creating a comfortable and conducive environment for students to live and study. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The addition of the dormitory aligns with LTI\u2019s plans to expand its offerings by introducing new courses, further increasing enrollment and student engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Principal Anthony noted that this initiative is part of the government\u2019s broader strategy to make university and tertiary education more accessible, particularly in the fields of technical and vocational training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This move, he said, is expected to encourage more students to pursue technical education and take advantage of free university and tertiary education initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Linden Technical Institute currently offers 25 programs at CVQ Levels 1 and 2, as well as programs through the Guyana Technical Education Examinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The completion of the dormitory is poised to play a crucial role in the institution\u2019s growth and the expansion of technical education opportunities in the region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tracey LiverpoolDecember 20, 2024 The construction of the Linden Technical Institute (LTI) dormitory has officially been completed, marking a significant step towards enhancing the institution\u2019s capacity and services.
