{"id":25872,"date":"2025-02-01T18:11:28","date_gmt":"2025-02-01T18:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=25872"},"modified":"2025-02-01T18:11:29","modified_gmt":"2025-02-01T18:11:29","slug":"365-set-to-graduate-from-one-guyana-digital-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/365-set-to-graduate-from-one-guyana-digital-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"365 Set to Graduate from &#8216;One Guyana Digital Initiative&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Celestine Chacon<\/em><br><em>December 18, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 360 individuals are set to graduate from the Government\u2019s \u2018One Guyana Digital Initiative\u2019 after eight months of intense training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative, part of the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) program, was conducted in collaboration with Toronto Metropolitan University and the Government of Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a ceremony held on Tuesday at State House, some of the program\u2019s graduates presented their projects to President Irfaan Ali and Cabinet members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their projects included innovative solutions such as patient management applications, waste management systems, and tutoring platforms aimed at addressing challenges in health, education, and agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Ali announced that the initiative will soon expand into the \u201cOne Caribbean Digital\u201d program, offering more opportunities for students to secure higher-paying jobs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He highlighted that graduates from the program could expect salaries ranging from $30,000 to $40,000 annually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This expansion aims to develop the highest-skilled workforce in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One participant, Abdul Subhan, expressed his gratitude for the skills he gained during the program, which he believes will contribute to the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018One Guyana Digital Initiative\u2019 began in February of this year with a target of training over 2,000 Guyanese in key technology skills, including software development, front-end design, and mobile app development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first cohort is now ready to contribute to the country\u2019s growing tech sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Celestine ChaconDecember 18, 2024 Over 360 individuals are set to graduate from the Government\u2019s \u2018One Guyana Digital Initiative\u2019 after eight months of intense training.
