{"id":25637,"date":"2025-01-17T18:17:06","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T18:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=25637"},"modified":"2025-01-17T18:17:07","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T18:17:07","slug":"mahdia-wins-inaugural-erc-harmony-league-t10-tapeball-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/mahdia-wins-inaugural-erc-harmony-league-t10-tapeball-tournament\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahdia Wins Inaugural ERC Harmony League T10 Tapeball Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Eric Collymore | December 9, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahdia, representing The Movement Family, secured the championship title in the inaugural Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) Harmony League T10 Tapeball Tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team defeated Lil Rams in a decisive final on Sunday at the Everest Cricket Club ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Batting first, Lil Rams managed a total of 94 for 8, with notable contributions from Kemol Savory (33) and Riyad Latif (23). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahdia\u2019s bowlers, led by Floyd Joseph, who took three wickets for 24 runs in two overs, and Neiland Cadogan, with figures of 2 for 23, restricted the opposition\u2019s scoring opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chasing a target of 95, Mahdia delivered an emphatic performance. Openers Ricardo Adams and Ershaad Ali dominated the bowling attack, achieving the target without loss in just 6.5 overs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adams top-scored with 44, hitting four boundaries and three sixes, while Ali\u2019s explosive innings featured five sixes and one four, earning him the Player of the Match award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tournament, which began on November 17, featured 48 teams from Guyana\u2019s three counties, promoting unity and diversity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ERC Commissioner Charles Ogle expressed pride in the competition\u2019s success, emphasizing its role in fostering harmony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head of the Public Relations Sub-Committee, Commissioner Neaz Subhan, also conveyed gratitude to the participating teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahdia claimed the grand prize of $500,000, while Lil Rams received $250,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The losing semi-finalists, The Guards and CJIA Warriors, were awarded $100,000 each.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Eric Collymore | December 9, 2024 Mahdia, representing The Movement Family, secured the championship title in the inaugural Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) Harmony League T10 Tapeball Tournament.
