{"id":25559,"date":"2025-01-16T18:17:12","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T18:17:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=25559"},"modified":"2025-01-16T18:17:58","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T18:17:58","slug":"mackenzie-wismar-bridge-update-works-progressing-as-planned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/mackenzie-wismar-bridge-update-works-progressing-as-planned\/","title":{"rendered":"Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge Update: Works Progressing as Planned"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Tracey Liverpool, December 7, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Construction of the new Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge is progressing as planned, with the project team providing an update on its developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project Engineer Pavel Magin reported that work on a temporary bridge, which began in November, is underway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The temporary structure, which includes both a main bridge and a platform, is set to be completed by December. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Platform construction will commence in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Relations Officer Abbey Jaye-Skeete noted that construction on the eastern bank of the bridge is nearly finished. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the weekend, efforts will shift to the western bank of the bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Magin explained that the temporary bridge will allow for piling work to begin in January. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Piling is the foundation phase for the permanent structure, which will continue until mid-2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After that, the installation of girders will take place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project remains on schedule for completion by 2026, with plans for a unique and innovative design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge project, valued at $35 million USD, is being carried out by the China Railway Construction Company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tracey Liverpool, December 7, 2024 Construction of the new Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge is progressing as planned, with the project team providing an update on its developments.
