{"id":25487,"date":"2025-01-16T17:23:54","date_gmt":"2025-01-16T17:23:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=25487"},"modified":"2025-01-16T17:24:04","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T17:24:04","slug":"guyana-and-south-korea-sign-air-services-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/guyana-and-south-korea-sign-air-services-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"Guyana and South Korea Sign Air Services Agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Delicia Janneire | December 5, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guyana has officially signed an air services agreement with South Korea, marking a significant development in the country\u2019s air connectivity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement was formalized this morning during a ceremony held at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, with Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, signing on behalf of Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new agreement is set to enhance air connectivity between the two nations, which currently does not have direct flights between them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected to facilitate more opportunities for private sector engagement in both countries to provide the necessary connectivity for travelers and businesses alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Edghill emphasized the potential for expanded engagement between Guyana and the rest of the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He pointed out that as Guyana&#8217;s international landscape evolves, the agreement would create new opportunities for both countries to connect and collaborate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new agreement complements the more than 50 air services agreements Guyana has already established with other International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) member countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guyana and South Korea have maintained diplomatic relations since October 2, 1969.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia Janneire | December 5, 2024 Guyana has officially signed an air services agreement with South Korea, marking a significant development in the country\u2019s air connectivity.
