Correia International Airport at Ogle to Paramaribo, Suriname. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new service, operated by Caribbean Airlines, will significantly enhance regional connectivity and provide greater convenience for both Guyanese travelers and tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flights, scheduled twice a week on Sundays and Fridays, will be serviced by Caribbean Airlines&#8217; ATR 72-600 aircraft, responding to the increasing demand for air travel between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Minister with responsibility for the aviation sector, Juan Edghill, expressed his support for this development, emphasizing the private sector\u2019s confidence in the government\u2019s investments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also highlighted plans for the expansion of the fleet by other operators in the aviation industry, noting that more flights and aircraft are expected, with the potential to explore additional routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond, also welcomed the new service, stressing that Caribbean Airlines\u2019 investment further demonstrates Guyana\u2019s growing appeal as a destination for regional travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Renatha Marshall, the Country Manager for Caribbean Airlines in Guyana and Suriname, highlighted the positive impact this expansion would have, including increased employment opportunities for Guyanese nationals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline has also been hosting job fairs and expanding its local team to ensure that as the airline grows, so do opportunities for the people of Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flight schedule is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sundays:<\/strong>\u00a0Flight BW 383 departs Ogle at 9:55 AM, arriving in Suriname at 12:05 PM.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fridays:<\/strong>\u00a0Flight BW 383 departs Ogle at 10:45 AM, arriving in Suriname at 12:55 PM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This addition to the aviation sector is expected to foster closer ties between Guyana and Suriname, benefiting both tourism and business sectors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia Janneire, November 4, 2024 The aviation sector in Guyana continues to expand with the introduction of direct flights from the Eugene F.
