{"id":24357,"date":"2024-11-26T13:28:42","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T13:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=24357"},"modified":"2024-11-26T13:28:43","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T13:28:43","slug":"essequibo-gets-first-simulation-training-centre-to-boost-healthcare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/essequibo-gets-first-simulation-training-centre-to-boost-healthcare\/","title":{"rendered":"Essequibo Gets First Simulation Training Centre to Boost Healthcare"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Delicia Janneire<\/em><br><em>October 29, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essequibo has achieved a significant milestone in healthcare development with the commissioning of its first simulation training centre by the Ministry of Health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new facility, located in Cinderella County, aims to enhance medical training and education for professionals and students, addressing the growing demand for skilled healthcare workers in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The simulation centre is part of a broader initiative to improve hands-on training in the healthcare sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will serve as a training hub, reducing the need for medical workers in the region to travel to Georgetown for practical learning opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The facility will include a computer lab, lecture theater, and other state-of-the-art resources to support continuous education for medical professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Health is also constructing a new nursing school within the centre&#8217;s compound to address the region\u2019s healthcare workforce needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school is expected to contribute to the training of 600 to 800 nurses, a critical requirement to meet the demands of the expanding healthcare system in Essequibo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the simulation centre, Essequibo will soon benefit from a modern hospital currently under construction in Lima. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hospital is designed to reduce medical transfers to Georgetown by offering comprehensive healthcare services locally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will feature 75 inpatient beds, two operating theaters, a minor theater, outpatient clinics, digital imaging services, CT scans, and a fully equipped laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These developments are part of the government\u2019s ongoing efforts to elevate the standard of healthcare in Guyana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The introduction of advanced facilities like the simulation centre and the Lima hospital is expected to significantly improve access to quality medical care for residents of Essequibo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia JanneireOctober 29, 2024 Essequibo has achieved a significant milestone in healthcare development with the commissioning of its first simulation training centre by the Ministry of Health.
