{"id":24265,"date":"2024-11-20T14:55:03","date_gmt":"2024-11-20T14:55:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=24265"},"modified":"2024-11-20T14:55:40","modified_gmt":"2024-11-20T14:55:40","slug":"95-million-childrens-play-park-commissioned-in-georgetown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/95-million-childrens-play-park-commissioned-in-georgetown\/","title":{"rendered":"$95 Million Children&#8217;s Play Park Commissioned in Georgetown"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>October 26, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new $95 million Children&#8217;s Play Park was officially opened on Friday, marking the sixth park commissioned under the Office of the First Lady\u2019s National Beautification Project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The park is part of an initiative to create more recreational spaces across Guyana, aiming to enhance community life in each administrative region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located in Georgetown\u2019s National Park, the play park features modern amenities designed for families and children to unwind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the park&#8217;s main attractions is a water pad, along with swings, slides, game boards, a hopscotch area, washroom facilities, benches, lights, free Wi-Fi, a security system, and concession shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the ceremony, First Lady Arya Ali emphasized the importance of public parks in improving community life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Parks hold enormous value which we often take for granted. A robust ecosystem of public parks, coupled with frequent recreational programs, can significantly elevate the status of the community,&#8221; she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The park has been well received by residents, with parents and guardians expressing excitement about the new space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tricia Nananan, a recent arrival from Canada, noted the park&#8217;s features reminded her of those back home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSeeing this here is impressive; it\u2019s a bonus for us,\u201d she said.
