{"id":24020,"date":"2024-11-14T17:16:26","date_gmt":"2024-11-14T17:16:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=24020"},"modified":"2024-11-14T17:16:27","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T17:16:27","slug":"matthews-ridge-benefits-from-new-3-3-km-road-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/matthews-ridge-benefits-from-new-3-3-km-road-network\/","title":{"rendered":"Matthews Ridge Benefits from New 3.3 km Road Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>October 18, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents of Matthews Ridge in Region One can now enjoy smoother and more convenient travel with the completion of 3.3 kilometers of internal roads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This road project, a promise made by President Irfaan Ali, is part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sharon Phillips, Chairperson of the Matthews Ridge Community Development Council, highlighted that the road improvement is a significant step toward the community&#8217;s development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She noted that Matthews Ridge, historically one of the country\u2019s gold mining districts, had long been neglected, with poor roads, lack of electricity, and minimal services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, she pointed out that these challenges are being addressed, and the community is now on a path to improving living standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phillips also shared that the project has already provided direct employment to over 60 local residents, contributing to the community&#8217;s economic growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Matthews Ridge has benefited from several other development projects in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Irfaan Ali recently visited the nearby Mabaruma sub-district, where additional road projects are underway as part of continued infrastructure development in the region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 18, 2024 Residents of Matthews Ridge in Region One can now enjoy smoother and more convenient travel with the completion of 3.3 kilometers of internal roads.
