{"id":23913,"date":"2024-11-07T14:23:48","date_gmt":"2024-11-07T14:23:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=23913"},"modified":"2024-11-07T14:24:25","modified_gmt":"2024-11-07T14:24:25","slug":"new-malaria-strategic-plan-2026-2030-aims-for-elimination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/new-malaria-strategic-plan-2026-2030-aims-for-elimination\/","title":{"rendered":"New Malaria Strategic Plan 2026-2030 Aims for Elimination"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>October 17, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key stakeholders consultation has commenced to develop the National Malaria Programme Strategic Plan for 2026 to 2030, with a strong focus on eliminating malaria in Guyana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony, addressed the meeting at the Ministry of Health\u2019s Brickdam Headquarters, emphasizing the importance of shifting strategies to ensure the disease is eradicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Anthony highlighted that, despite past efforts, the country has not seen a significant reduction in malaria cases, prompting the need for a more innovative approach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stressed, &#8220;If we keep doing the same thing, we get the same results,&#8221; urging for the adoption of new strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister also called for a region-specific approach, especially in malaria-endemic areas such as regions 1, 7, 8, and 9.
