{"id":23778,"date":"2024-11-04T13:40:05","date_gmt":"2024-11-04T13:40:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=23778"},"modified":"2024-11-04T13:40:37","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T13:40:37","slug":"exxonmobil-completes-pipeline-for-guyanas-gas-to-energy-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/exxonmobil-completes-pipeline-for-guyanas-gas-to-energy-project\/","title":{"rendered":"ExxonMobil Completes Pipeline for Guyana&#8217;s Gas-To-Energy Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong>By Josiah Williams<\/strong><br><strong>October 9, 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Georgetown, Guyana \u2014 The pipeline for the highly anticipated Gas-To-Energy (GTE) project is now mechanically complete, marking a significant milestone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement came from ExxonMobil Guyana&#8217;s President, Alistair Routledge, who provided an update on the project at a media conference earlier today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Routledge highlighted that the risers for the pipeline were installed successfully, meeting both safety and scheduling expectations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The pipeline is now essentially mechanically completed,&#8221; he shared, noting that it has undergone hydro and pressure testing, as well as dewatering and nitrogen introduction to prepare it for natural gas flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The completion of the pipeline connection to the Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading units (FPSOs) \u2014 <em>Liza Unity<\/em> and <em>Liza Destiny<\/em> \u2014 took place over a 12-day shutdown period for each vessel in July and August. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exxon also performed maintenance and debottlenecking on these FPSOs during that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Routledge assured Guyanese citizens that Exxon remains committed to finishing its portion of the GTE project on time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The section Exxon is responsible for executing&#8230; will be completed by the end of this year 2024, on course and on budget,&#8221; he stated confidently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Onshore, the GTE project will feature an integrated facility comprising a natural gas liquids plant and a 300-megawatt power plant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once completed, the project is expected to reduce electricity costs by half and stimulate growth in manufacturing and other sectors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Josiah WilliamsOctober 9, 2024 Georgetown, Guyana \u2014 The pipeline for the highly anticipated Gas-To-Energy (GTE) project is now mechanically complete, marking a significant milestone.
