{"id":23747,"date":"2024-10-28T18:49:53","date_gmt":"2024-10-28T18:49:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=23747"},"modified":"2024-10-28T18:49:54","modified_gmt":"2024-10-28T18:49:54","slug":"new-detour-road-to-open-as-mackenzie-wismar-bridge-construction-advances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/new-detour-road-to-open-as-mackenzie-wismar-bridge-construction-advances\/","title":{"rendered":"New Detour Road to Open as Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge Construction Advances"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Tracey Liverpool | October 8, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction of the new Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge is progressing, and commuters between Mackenzie and Wismar will soon experience changes to traffic patterns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A detour road is scheduled to open on Monday, October 14, facilitating transportation during the construction phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Civil engineer Pavil Magin from China Railway Construction Company (CRCC) announced that the detour road is essential for maintaining traffic flow while allowing construction work to proceed without interruptions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction team has completed the primary infrastructure for the detour, which is now ready for use after successful testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the upcoming changes, Casaurina Drive leading to the bridge will be permanently restricted, and a section of Washer Pond Road will have daytime restrictions from 7 AM to 6 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure safety during the transition, the detour road will include clear signage and safety measures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These enhancements are part of a comprehensive safety protocol established for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CRCC is on schedule to meet the completion deadline of April 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the detour is operational, the focus will shift to constructing the access roads, which will enable the start of work on a temporary bridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The foundation for the new bridge is expected to be set in January 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents and commuters are encouraged to remain alert for updates as this vital infrastructure project continues to develop.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tracey Liverpool | October 8, 2024 The construction of the new Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge is progressing, and commuters between Mackenzie and Wismar will soon experience changes to traffic patterns.
