{"id":23448,"date":"2024-10-08T14:46:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-08T14:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=23448"},"modified":"2024-10-08T14:46:01","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T14:46:01","slug":"helena-one-and-two-cricket-ground-reopens-with-sports-and-community-fun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/helena-one-and-two-cricket-ground-reopens-with-sports-and-community-fun\/","title":{"rendered":"Helena One and Two Cricket Ground Reopens with Sports and Community Fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Tyriq Walters| September 26, 2024<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reopening of the Helena One and Two Cricket Ground was filled with excitement as the community gathered for a day of sports, enjoyment, and camaraderie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event featured thrilling cricket matches and introduced new activities such as mini-golf and archery, attracting numerous eager participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scores of residents flocked to the newly rehabilitated ground on Sunday, where the outfield had been enhanced by Nexgen Golf&#8217;s equipment and maintenance team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside cricket matches, attendees engaged in dominoes, darts, and card games, but the mini-golf and Pro Archers activities particularly captured the crowd&#8217;s attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aleem Hussain, President of the Guyana Golf Association, was present with 11-time Guyana Golf champion Avinash Persaud and pro golfer Asroodeen Shaw, who provided demonstrations and guidance to participants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ProArchers team, led by Narda Mohamed-Mangra, Anand Mangra, and Dwain Albert, also engaged with the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day featured competitive events, with De Hoop Sports Club winning the fundraising cricket match, while the Helena Ground Management Committee triumphed in the exhibition match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De Hoop Sports Club also secured first place in the domino competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event received sponsorship from various organizations, including the Guyana Golf Association, Premier Insurance, H.
