{"id":23233,"date":"2024-09-24T12:42:51","date_gmt":"2024-09-24T12:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=23233"},"modified":"2024-09-24T12:42:52","modified_gmt":"2024-09-24T12:42:52","slug":"conversation-tree-road-project-nears-completion-with-october-deadline-in-sight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/conversation-tree-road-project-nears-completion-with-october-deadline-in-sight\/","title":{"rendered":"Conversation Tree Road Project Nears Completion with October Deadline in Sight"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The long-delayed Conversation Tree Road Project is now on track for completion by the end of October, according to Public Works Minister Juan Edghill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a recent site visit, Minister Edghill received an update on the progress of the $1.8 billion project, which is in its final stages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The site visit aimed to assess the ongoing work and ensure that the project remains on schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Edghill expressed satisfaction with the work done so far, highlighting the dedication of the workers who have gone above and beyond to keep the project on course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that the project has now reached a crucial stage, with paving completed on the North-South carriageway running to Dennis Street, and ongoing work to widen Dennis Street itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally, the project faced significant setbacks due to delays by the Trinidadian company Kalco Guyana Inc., which was initially contracted to complete the North-South corridor of the road for $830 million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following their failure to meet deadlines, the contract was reassigned to S Jagmohan Construction for $844 million, with an updated completion target of October 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Edghill also outlined future plans for the area, including improvements to Dennis Street, which will eventually connect to the Eastern Highway and into Sophia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These enhancements are expected to provide better traffic flow and connectivity for residents and commuters in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the final stages of construction underway, the Public Works Ministry is confident that the project will meet its revised deadline, marking a significant development in Guyana\u2019s road infrastructure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The long-delayed Conversation Tree Road Project is now on track for completion by the end of October, according to Public Works Minister Juan Edghill.
