{"id":23154,"date":"2024-09-20T18:42:27","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T18:42:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=23154"},"modified":"2024-09-20T18:42:28","modified_gmt":"2024-09-20T18:42:28","slug":"classes-resume-at-wismar-christianburg-secondary-school-after-health-scare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/classes-resume-at-wismar-christianburg-secondary-school-after-health-scare\/","title":{"rendered":"Classes Resume at Wismar Christianburg Secondary School After Health Scare"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Students of Wismar Christianburg Secondary School in Region 10 have returned to classes following a series of unexplained illnesses that disrupted school activities last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school building was thoroughly inspected and sanitized by the Education Department on Monday to ensure a safe environment for the students and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acting Regional Education Officer La Shanna Anderson held a meeting with parents and teachers on Tuesday to address concerns and provide updates on the measures being taken to maintain student safety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the PTA meeting, Anderson assured attendees that the Education Department had done everything possible to ensure the school&#8217;s safety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She mentioned that the Regional Environmental Department conducted checks and found no pollutants in the environment, while the entire school was sanitized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To further enhance safety, the Education Department has improved ventilation by installing additional fans, and a nurse has been stationed at the school to provide immediate medical assistance if needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The department is also working closely with the Regional Health Department to ensure quick responses to any future incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The school experienced multiple cases of students fainting and blacking out, starting last Wednesday and continuing through Friday, which led to several students being taken to the Linden Hospital Complex. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, and all affected students have since returned to school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Education Department continues to monitor the situation closely and is committed to maintaining a safe learning environment for the students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students of Wismar Christianburg Secondary School in Region 10 have returned to classes following a series of unexplained illnesses that disrupted school activities last week.
