The final day of the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-17 Rising Stars Tournament at the National Cricket Centre in Cova, Trinidad and Tobago, was marred by bad weather, leading to a no-result for the last matches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, Team Guyana finished third in the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the tournament\u2019s concluding day, the Guyanese team faced the Leeward Islands Under-17 side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guyana, having been put into bat, started strong with openers Vikash Wilkinson and Rampersaud Ramnauth contributing 34 and 31 runs, respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Romario Ramdeholl added 23 runs, and Afraz Ali Budhoo chipped in with 14 runs, bringing the team’s total to 171 runs in 40.5 overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Leeward Islands, needing 172 runs to win, had made a solid start, losing only one wicket and scoring 35 runs by the eighth over. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, persistent rain forced the abandonment of the match before further play could occur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Guyana, Emmanuel Lewis, the lone wicketkeeper, secured one wicket for four runs in two overs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other games, the match between host country Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados ended in a draw, while the final match between Windward Islands and Jamaica was also abandoned without a ball being bowled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the tournament now concluded, Trinidad and Tobago emerged as the winners with 20.2 points, followed by Barbados with 17.6 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guyana finished in third place with 14.4 points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
