{"id":22680,"date":"2024-09-09T12:48:37","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T12:48:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=22680"},"modified":"2024-09-09T12:48:38","modified_gmt":"2024-09-09T12:48:38","slug":"schools-across-guyana-reopen-for-new-academic-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/schools-across-guyana-reopen-for-new-academic-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Schools Across Guyana Reopen for New Academic Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Delicia Janneire<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schools throughout Guyana welcomed students back today for the 2024\/2025 academic year, marking the start of a new term filled with promise and anticipation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Georgetown to Berbice, students and parents shared their excitement and aspirations for the upcoming school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As schools reopened, many students expressed a mix of eagerness and nervousness about the new academic challenges ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether moving to a new school or advancing to the next grade, students spoke about their hopes and the adjustments they are making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samuel McTurk, a student starting at a new school, admitted to feeling nervous about the transition to a larger environment with different teachers and classmates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the initial apprehension, he is determined to make new friends and adapt to the new setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Danesha Bristol, another student, expressed her enthusiasm for the tech stream she has joined, aiming to pursue a career as an architect in the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is focused on excelling in her studies to build a strong foundation for her ambitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parents also shared their experiences and expectations for the new school year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One parent mentioned waking up at 5 a.m. to prepare her children, who were eager to start school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another parent noted the excitement of her children, who were so eager they woke up at 3 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keisha Chesney, a parent with children starting grade six and grade three, expressed her hopes for a successful school year for her children, highlighting the importance of a positive and productive educational environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a message posted on her Facebook page, Education Minister Priya Manickchand extended her best wishes to students, teachers, and parents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She acknowledged the range of emotions students might experience as they start new classes or schools and emphasized the role of teachers, the government, parents, and administrators in shaping a positive educational experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manickchand stressed that the efforts of all involved will significantly impact how students enjoy their school life and how well they are prepared for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia Janneire Schools throughout Guyana welcomed students back today for the 2024\/2025 academic year, marking the start of a new term filled with promise and anticipation.
