{"id":22436,"date":"2024-09-05T14:31:39","date_gmt":"2024-09-05T14:31:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=22436"},"modified":"2024-09-05T14:31:43","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T14:31:43","slug":"region-ten-tourism-committee-expands-efforts-to-boost-tourism-regional-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/region-ten-tourism-committee-expands-efforts-to-boost-tourism-regional-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Region Ten Tourism Committee Expands Efforts to Boost Tourism &amp; Regional Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Tracey Liverpool<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Region Ten Tourism Committee (RTTC) is taking significant steps to elevate the region&#8217;s status as a prime tourist destination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During their recent Annual General Meeting, the committee announced several key initiatives aimed at boosting tourism and regional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the major changes includes the formation of a new agro-tourism sub-committee, expanding the total number of sub-committees to five. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This new sub-committee will focus on integrating the region&#8217;s agricultural practices into tourism activities, providing visitors with opportunities to explore local farms and learn about food production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to this, the RTTC has established partnerships with the US Embassy and USAID to advance agro-tourism projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee has also collaborated with other organizations to support its \u201cNetwork Through Tourism\u201d initiative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enhance its operational effectiveness, the RTTC has expanded its board from four to six members, including the addition of two new female directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These developments are part of a broader strategy to empower the local community and improve the region\u2019s tourism offerings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee is preparing for Tourism Awareness Month with a plan to organize twenty-three events designed to boost both tourism and the regional economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ongoing efforts by the RTTC are expected to make a significant impact on Region Ten&#8217;s tourism sector and contribute to its overall development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tracey Liverpool The Region Ten Tourism Committee (RTTC) is taking significant steps to elevate the region&#8217;s status as a prime tourist destination.
