{"id":22424,"date":"2024-09-05T14:14:04","date_gmt":"2024-09-05T14:14:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=22424"},"modified":"2024-09-05T14:14:07","modified_gmt":"2024-09-05T14:14:07","slug":"vp-jagdeo-highlights-job-creation-and-training-initiatives-in-region-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/vp-jagdeo-highlights-job-creation-and-training-initiatives-in-region-5\/","title":{"rendered":"VP Jagdeo Highlights Job Creation and Training Initiatives in Region 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><em>By Josiah Williams<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo recently engaged residents of Region Five, outlining the government&#8217;s ongoing efforts to improve citizens&#8217; lives through job creation and education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to communities such as Mahaicony, Paradise, Cotton Tree, and Fairfield, Jagdeo emphasized the government&#8217;s commitment to employment generation and skills development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the key initiatives discussed was the construction of 10 international hotels across Guyana, a direct result of the government\u2019s proactive approach to inviting proposals for new hotels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vice President highlighted that these projects are expected to create over 3,000 jobs for Guyanese in both the construction and operational phases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two of these hotels are currently being built in the Palmyra area of Berbice, offering new employment opportunities for residents in Regions Five and Six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to job creation, Jagdeo underscored the government&#8217;s investment in education and training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through programmes like WINN, GROW, BIT, and GOAL, the government has provided free education to 50,000 Guyanese, helping to equip them with skills for future employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his interactions, the Vice President also stressed the importance of staying informed amidst the rise of misleading social media posts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The engagement forms part of the government&#8217;s broader strategy to connect directly with citizens and address their concerns.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Josiah Williams Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo recently engaged residents of Region Five, outlining the government&#8217;s ongoing efforts to improve citizens&#8217; lives through job creation and education.
