{"id":22099,"date":"2024-09-03T20:49:06","date_gmt":"2024-09-03T20:49:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=22099"},"modified":"2024-09-03T20:49:09","modified_gmt":"2024-09-03T20:49:09","slug":"telemedicine-services-to-launch-in-monkey-mountain-region-eight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/telemedicine-services-to-launch-in-monkey-mountain-region-eight\/","title":{"rendered":"Telemedicine Services to Launch in Monkey Mountain, Region Eight"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Delicia Janneire<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Monkey Mountain Health Centre in Region Eight is set to receive telemedicine services by Saturday, marking a significant advancement in healthcare delivery for the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative, announced by President Dr. Irfaan Ali, aims to connect the health centre with Georgetown Hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This linkage will allow local health workers to consult with specialists and doctors in Georgetown, enhancing the quality of care provided to residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its introduction in 2022, telemedicine has greatly improved healthcare accessibility, particularly in remote and hinterland communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new service will enable residents to access specialized medical treatments, including cardiology, cancer care, and ultrasounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, a medical outreach program will take place in two weeks, bringing essential services directly to the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This outreach will include eye screenings, dental care, and HPV vaccinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Residents will receive spectacles on-site, and those requiring cataract surgery will be assisted in traveling to Port Mourant Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government is committed to expanding telemedicine services, with plans to establish 25 more telemedicine sites across rural and hinterland areas in 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia Janneire The Monkey Mountain Health Centre in Region Eight is set to receive telemedicine services by Saturday, marking a significant advancement in healthcare delivery for the area.
