{"id":21507,"date":"2024-07-27T01:53:10","date_gmt":"2024-07-27T01:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=21507"},"modified":"2024-07-27T01:53:12","modified_gmt":"2024-07-27T01:53:12","slug":"president-ali-commits-2-million-to-enhance-sda-health-outreach-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/president-ali-commits-2-million-to-enhance-sda-health-outreach-program\/","title":{"rendered":"President Ali Commits $2 Million to Enhance SDA Health Outreach Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Samuel Gillis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Dr. Irfaan Ali has pledged $2 million to support the Guyana Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists&#8217; (SDA) Health Ministries outreach program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This commitment was announced during the SDA&#8217;s National Health Fair, held at the Sophia Exhibition Centre on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his remarks, President Ali expressed strong support for the SDA&#8217;s health initiatives, recognizing the challenges associated with transportation and logistics for the church&#8217;s health services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding will help alleviate some of these logistical burdens, facilitating the continuation and expansion of their outreach efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President also highlighted the government\u2019s ongoing support for the SDA\u2019s health outreach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that the Port Mourant Ophthalmology Centre is now fully operational and available for cataract surgeries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the government&#8217;s eye testing and spectacles program will provide vouchers to individuals referred by the SDA health ministries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SDA Conference is dedicated to extending its health services beyond Georgetown and Sophia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the coming days, the health team will conduct outreach in various regions, including Buxton, Leonora, Burbice, and Good Hope, among other locations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative is part of the church\u2019s broader effort to enhance healthcare accessibility across Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Health Fair offered a range of services to over 800 attendees, including eye testing, dental exams, blood drives, and nutritional guidance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event underscores the SDA\u2019s commitment to public health and its role in supporting community well-being.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Samuel Gillis President Dr. Irfaan Ali has pledged $2 million to support the Guyana Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists&#8217; (SDA) Health Ministries outreach program.
