{"id":21423,"date":"2024-07-20T01:38:35","date_gmt":"2024-07-20T01:38:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=21423"},"modified":"2024-07-20T01:38:54","modified_gmt":"2024-07-20T01:38:54","slug":"construction-of-docking-facility-to-begin-in-august","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/construction-of-docking-facility-to-begin-in-august\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction of Docking Facility to Begin in August"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>In a significant development for residents along the Demerara River, construction of a new boat mooring facility is set to commence in August. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, announced this during his visit to Linden on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The planned facility will feature a modern enclosed waiting area and washroom facilities, designed to enhance the comfort and convenience for passengers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total cost for the construction is estimated to be between 10 to 12 million dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Edghill revealed that the design for the facility has been finalized and emphasized that the initiative aims to provide better services for travelers in the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The facility is expected to be completed by the end of August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has been met with approval from local leaders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hanun Chattergoon, Toshao of Muritaro, expressed gratitude towards the government, highlighting the benefits the new facility will bring to the numerous boats operating in the river. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Owen Bowling, Toshao of Malali, also welcomed the project, noting its positive impact on the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the new docking facility, Minister Edghill announced that the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) will soon establish an office in Linden to improve regulation of the waterway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative reflects the People\u2019s Progressive Party\/Civic (PPP\/C) Government\u2019s commitment to enhancing living standards through investments in infrastructure, health, education, housing, agriculture, and social sectors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a significant development for residents along the Demerara River, construction of a new boat mooring facility is set to commence in August.
